BroadwayWorld.com wishes to extend congratulations to David and Lisa Campbell who welcomed their new baby into the world yesterday - Leo Richard James Campbell at 10 pounds and 12 ounces. Mother and child are both doing well!

Also, it's perfect timing for Lisa because now there's no doubt that she'll be able to attend the gala and events of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival that she and David produce.

David Campbell got his start in the 1990s at the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Theatre Company. In 1997, he came to New York where he became a fixture on the cabaret scene, which led to  to more high-profile roles in the USA, Australia and elsewhere, including in musicals such as Les Misérables, South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, and in Cameron Mackintosh's Royal Command Performance Hey, Mr. Producer! in London. In 2000 he provided the singing voice for the character Joseph in Dreamworks' animated film Joseph: King of Dreams. In 2001, David Campbell took the major starring role in the Australian musical "Shout!", the story of 'The Wild One' - rocker Johnny O'Keefe. This production became a cultural phenomenon in Australia, and made Campbell a household name. Since becoming a successful recording artist, he has continued to make occasional stage appearances in Australia, in musicals such as Carousel, Sunset Boulevard, and Company. Campbell's recordings include The Swing Sessions, an album produced by Chong Limcovering 13 classic swing tracks such as "Mack the Knife", "Call Me Irresponsible", "Mr Bojangles", and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" and The Swing Sessions 2. Both discs achieved platinum sales and charted in the Top 10 of the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. In 2008, Campbell released Good Lovin, an album of songs from the 1960s, which also went platinum.
