Cate Blanchett & Andrew Upton Leave Sydney Theatre Company by BWW News Desk (Jan. 20 11:20 AM) - According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Cate Blanchett and her husband, Andrew Upton, have decided to step down as the co-artistc directors of the Sydney Theatre Company. STC chairman David Gonski told SMH that they've been 'very, very fortunate to have both Cate and Andrew for what will constitute a six-year period … they have been absolutely excellent. We have always had an international element to the company but now there is absolutely no doubt about that.' |

Previews begin today, and the production will continue for 12 weeks through April 1. |

Returning to the role of New York ‘zillionaire' Daddy Warbucks will be one of Australia's greatest theatrical talents, Anthony Warlow, fresh from his success in the title role of the World Premiere of Doctor Zhivago. Show business legend Nancye Hayes will play the tyrannical Miss Hannigan who runs the orphanage where Annie begins her journey. This is the third Australian production of Annie that Nancye has been involved with, having played Lily St Regis in the original production and been Resident Director for the second. |
