[title of show] is a musical about two guys named Jeff and Hunter by two nobodies named Jeff and Hunter.In 2004, the real Jeff and Hunter decided to enter the inaugural New York Music Theatre Festival (NYMF). The problem was, they didn't have a musical. With a deadline set, three weeks later they entered [title of show], named after the first line in the festival application form. Following its debut at NYMF, [title of show] enjoyed an acclaimed run at the Vineyard Theater Off-Broadway in 2006, and the release of an Original Cast Album that same year. They fulfilled their Broadway aspirations July 2008, where [title of show] ran for over 100 performances starring the writers themselves. The Magnormos season is the first production outside of the USA.

[title of show] is a tongue-in-cheek look at the art and business of creating an original piece of art in a culture dominated by revivals and reality TV stars, taking a thoroughly unique and comical look at the pleasures and perils of the artistic process. [title of show] follows Jeff, Hunter, Heidi and Susan as they negotiate a musical theatre obstacle course of finding backers, generating publicity, and finally becoming somebodies when they make it to Broadway [spoiler alert: it did make it!].[title of show] is a witty, melodic and uproarious musical about making ones dreams come true.

Jeff Bowen (Music and Lyrics) received an OBIE for his work on the production; Hunter Bell wrote the book and also received an OBIE Award, as well as Tony Award and Drama League nominations for his work on [title of show]. [warning] [title of show] contains mature language and content.

The Melbourne cast will feature David Spencer (Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical) as Jeff, Michael Lindner (Mary Poppins) as Hunter, Laura Fitzpatrick (The Thing About Men) as Susan and Lara Thew (Damn Yankees) as Heidi. The production is Directed by Aaron Joyner with Musical Direction from Sophie Thomas and Choreography by Jessica Enes.

Established in 2002 Magnormos is a dynamic producer of musical theatre with a unique focus on Australian audiences, and Australian writers. Magnormos has received both critical acclaim and industry commendations for is work, including three 2009 Green Room nominations for its most recent production LIFE'S A CIRCUS. Other Australian premieres include THE THING ABOUT MEN, SATURDAY NIGHT, and ARCHY & MEHITBEL.
