If you're spending time in Melbourne during the upcoming Easter break, come and enjoy Christmas with the Wyeth's in Melbourne Theatre Company's sharply witty production of Other Desert Cities at Southbank Theatre.

Celebrated acting legends Robyn Nevin and John Gaden star in this highly acclaimed domestic drama which must close on 17 April. Written by the creator of the popular TV series, Brothers and Sisters, Jon Robin Baitz's play Other Desert Cities was nominated for five Tony Awards including Best Play and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2012.

Respected international visual artist Callum Morton designed the exquisite set which takes inspiration from the famous Palm Springs modernist architecture style of the Kaufmann House. It includes the challenge of building a pool-like water feature directly into the stage with real water. Both set and play explore the surprising differences between the interior and exterior as the plot converges towards the final revelation.

As the ultimate Republican power couple, Senator Lyman Wyeth and his wife, Polly had it all until a devastating family incident saw them withdraw from public life. Now for the first time in years, the whole family is spending Christmas together. But tensions soon bubble to the surface.

When daughter Brooke Wyeth, played by Sacha Horler, confesses she's written a memoir about the incident that changed their lives, it opens old family wounds, shattering the festive season. Ultimately, will the truth heal them or drive them further apart in this compelling family drama?

Cast: John Gaden (Lyman Wyeth), Sacha Horler (Brooke Wyeth), Sue Jones (Silda Grauman), Ian Meadows (Trip Wyeth), Robyn Nevin (Polly Wyeth)
